    Truck-loading systems for bulk material within complex transfer installations

Wagon / Truck Loading

Wagon and/or truck loading systems are often required within complex bulk handling systems.

We design, fabricate and supply a wide-range of wagon loading systems that are specifically designed to our clients' requirements and incorporate various solutions according to their specific application. Our systems are able to reach a capacity of 8,000 t/h and boast charge accuracy to within +/- 2,5%.

Wagon Loading Systems

In systems where high material flow rates are required and/or which involve high charge accuracies and/or a high degree of automation, loading systems that include surge and weigh bins are employed.

The size of the surge bin can be minimized or, ideally, completely dispensed with, if the supply system delivers a constant and defined flow rate and the wagons have the same load capacity and dimensions. In the event of different sized wagons, the individual type and size of the wagon is identified prior to loading and this data is supplied digitally to a control system.

Our systems are thus capable of loading a wagon in either a fully automated or semi-automated manner. In non-automated systems, we prefer a system design in which material is loaded via a feeder belt or flap valve system.

Truck Loading Systems

TAKRAF is also able to provide truck loading systems for the handling of bulk material within complex transfer installations.

We design, fabricate and supply a wide-range of truck loading systems that are specifically designed to our clients' requirements and incorporate various solutions according to their specific application. Our systems are able to reach a capacity of 1,500 t/h and boast charge accuracy to within +/- 1%.

In systems where high material flow capacities are required and/or which involve specific charge accuracies, these systems are supplied with storage and/or weighing hoppers and include a high-degree of automation technology - either as an automated single or multiple-bay truck loading system.

Where material supply is continuous and uniform and system requirements call for lower material flow rates and/or lower charge accuracies, a semi-automated loading station with direct loading can also be employed - double-bay truck loading system.

    Load-out station and feed conveyor

    Tenova TAKRAF Africa supplied a load-out station and feed conveyor. A flask-loading system consisting of a steel silo equipped with a flow cone was used. The flask system has a built-in ‘learning capability’ that assesses the effect of the loaded material’s density and flow characteristics, automatically accounting for the prevailing conditions such as grain size, moisture and temperature.
