Elex Electrostatic Precipitators
Elex electrostatic precipitators are the most economical system currently available for the removal of dust from industrial gases at temperatures of up to 400 ºC.
Operating costs (opex) are reduced due to the low energy consumption of the equipment, whilst the cost of maintenance and spare parts is low too. In addition, the life expectancy of electrostatic precipitators usually exceeds that of upstream production units, such as kilns, mills, driers and coolers.
Elex electrostatic precipitators are capable of reducing dust content of more than 1,000 g/m3 to any required residual dust content.
Typical applications include:
- Cement, limestone and gypsum production plants
- Coal and biomass fired steam boilers
- Refuse and sludge incinerators
- Iron and steel production
- Production plants within the non-ferrous metals industry
- Production plants within the pulp and paper industry
The Elex electrostatic precipitator and associated range of equipment are sold under license from Elex in Schwerzenbach, Switzerland. The license is specific to the African region with permission to use globally if being installed into a TAKRAF project. *

Dry & Semi-Dry DeSox SystemsTAKRAF’s dry and semi-dry de-sox systems employ Simatek’s dry flue gas cleaning process and are employed in a wide range of biomass plants, waste incinerators and boiler applications.
Dry Fog Agglomerative Dust Suppression SystemDSI dust suppression systems offer the driest form of dust suppression available as only the dust is wet and not the material. As a result, this results in significantly lower water consumption levels and no significant wetting of the product (typically less than 0.05% by volume).
Dynamic Heavy-Duty Wet ScrubbersTAKRAF’s in-house scrubber range for air pollution control is comprehensive and covers all facets. This enables us to select the most cost-effective solution for any dust-control or air-cleaning requirement, no matter how large or small.
Reverse Pulse Bag FiltersTAKRAF’s reverse pulse bag filters handle flow rates from 0,5m3/s to 100m3/s and enable the economical collection of dust at high filter rates with collection efficiencies greater than 99,99%.
Simatek SimPulse Low-Pressure Bag HousesTAKRAF’s in-house range of air pollution control systems and equipment is comprehensive, enabling the selection of the most cost-effective solution for any dust-control, air-cleaning or product-recovery problem, no matter how large or small.
Wind Screen and Wind Fence SystemsDSI DustTamer™ wind screen systems are designed to drastically reduce wind velocity and particles within a defined environment, thus minimizing fugitive dust emissions from sources such as material stockpiles, stacking conveyors, truck, rail or loader dump pockets, vibrating screens, grizzlies, conveyor transfer points and load out silos.
